The worldwide demand for energy and chemical raw materials continues to rise unabated, which is restricting the supply of basic ingredients used by the printing ink manufacturing industry. For example, the price for crude oil has more than doubled since 2003, and the slight decrease witnessed in recent weeks has not brought any noticeable relief, due to a lack of essential high quality refining capacity. Apart from this, additional raw material price increases from the supply base, with some commodities up by as much as 15 percent, have had to be accepted to maintain security of supply and quality.
Flint Group will continue in its commitment to the delivery of high-quality products and services, and to be a stable and reliable partner to the printing industry. The company therefore is regrettably compelled to raise prices for its sheetfed inks and coatings across Europe, as contract terms permit.
