In February 2002, Akzo Nobel Inks was acquired in a management buyout. Since then, the company has been expanding rapidly, both through internal growth and by acquiring Trenal S.A.
The company has been looking forward to developing its own identity, and Drupa 2004 was the ideal place to introduce the company’s new name – ANI Printing Inks.
“Akzo Nobel Inks is no more,” said Peter Koivula, president and CEO of ANI Printing Inks. “With the unveiling of our new name and identity, the final and formal step towards independence has been taken. A new company is about to make a decisive impact on the printing ink industry. Everything is new, but in essence nothing changes, except for a few details that aim to further strengthen our organization, our business and consequently the image and future success of the new ANI Printing Inks.
“Apart from changing our name and identity, we’re also taking a decisive step forward in terms of marketing and communication, slightly adjusting our message to the market, making it a significant ingredient in our future customer promise,” Mr. Koivula added. “This message is an unmistakable result of our successful past, from where we’ve inherited several admirable virtues. These will form a natural and integral foundation in describing the new ANI Printing Inks.”
Mr. Koivula said ANI’s focus on its customers will continue to set it apart.
“Our customers and the market look for offers that stretch beyond the mere basic products,” Mr. Koivula said. “The more we focus on our customers’ comprehensive needs and adapt ourselves to them in all their aspects, the more attractive and eligible we’ll appear. Only a few, truly experienced and skilled players in the industry are able to offer that kind of solutions. We’ve become one of them; now we have to work hard to protect that position. We believe that in the ever-spinning merry-go-round that is business life, our customers will appreciate the concept of someone who knows exactly the way their business runs, who matches their needs, shares their visions and lives up to their ambitions.”
