At glasstec 2016, Sun Chemical will present the latest offerings from its SunVetro range of glass decoration solutions including organic inks, spray coatings, glass preparation products and cold end coating solutions. Visitors to the stand will also see how these solutions can be applied to a wide variety of glass packaging to significantly enhance product branding, aesthetic impact and functionality.
The SunVetro portfolio of organic inks offers a choice of UV curing and conventional solvent-based products. These are available in standard mixing colors as well as a wide range of special effect finishes including frosted, etched effects, thermochromic inks as well as ink solutions offering covert and overt brand protection features.
Also part of the SunVetro range is a series of spray coatings designed specifically for glass applications. These include eco-friendly spray coatings with zero VOC’s, as well as the successful Duracote cold end coatings, which can also be used as a post print treatment to improve abrasion resistance.
“The benefits of glass with its barrier properties, recycling credentials and tactile, premium aesthetics makes it an ideal substrate for a wide range of applications, from food and beverage packaging, high end cosmetics and medical vials, to computer and tablet screens and furnishings,” said Robin McMillan, product manager – Industrial and Graphics Europe, Sun Chemical.
The use of inkjet technology for glass decoration continues to gather pace and through the ongoing research and development of digital ink chemistry from SunJet, its global inkjet division, Sun Chemical is positioned to work with OEM’s and brand owners to maximize the potential of digital print direct to glass, be it flat, hollow, textured or shaped.
