Packaging Graphics, a provider of consumer product packaging solutions, and a Matlet Group company, has installed an eight-color Komori Lithrone GX40RP (GLX840RP) as part of the focus on investing in cutting-edge technologies that position the firm for expected growth. This latest financial commitment continues Matlet’s investment across all its operations as the firm works to ensure it meets the growing needs of clients that include some of the world’s most famous brands.
“We have responded to customer demand by investing in growth capital to position Matlet Group for our long-term future. In just the past six months, we have invested more than $5 million on new press and auxiliary finishing equipment,” said Gary Stiffler, CEO of the Matlet Group. “Today, more than ever, our customers require agility and speed-to-market and this investment demonstrates our continued commitment to meet their most pressing requirements. The GLX840RP gives us the advanced technology, efficiency and capacity to penetrate new markets.”
The Lithrone GX840RP, part of Komori’s OffsetOnDemand solutions, is designed with technologies necessary to achieve significantly shorter makeready times and powderless instant drying. The 40-inch front/reverse multi-color press delivers high-speed, one-pass two-sided printing with great stability, making it possible for Packaging Graphics to run high-quality print on paper boards and synthetic substrates ranging from .008 point to .032 point for the blister cards, folding cartons, skin pack sheets, stretch pack, CD sleeves, menus and other specialty products the company produces for consumer point-of-purchase packaging and casual dining industries.
