OMET Srl recently unveiled the new Varyflex V2 at an event titled Welcome to the Future at its Lecco, Italy factory. Two hundred people were present for the event that marked a new chapter for the company and the industry. The guests were a mix of customers, journalists and prominent figures in the industry, who were able to demo the press later in the day. It was clear to the event attendees that OMET Srl, the company known for “Innovation with Passion,” has succeeded once again in advancing the Offset Printing Industry. This time with a lower waste and cost printer, yielding higher efficiency.
OMET’s offset technology originated in 2008 with the first offset interchangeable cassettes; now seven years later, one of the many selling-points of their design is the ability to print variable sleeve repeats in widths of 670mm (26'') to 850mm (33''). Applications include flexible packaging, shrinkable films, aluminum, folding cartons, special applications, paper, self-adhesive labels, and unsupported filmic labels. Other features of this new product include an inking train with twenty rollers, a maximum speed of 400 meters per minute, and offset plate sleeves that have skewing adjustments to fix any misalignments of plates directly on the press.
Steve Leibin of Matik, Inc. who represents OMET in North America, said, “OMET’s new sleeve offset printing unit delivers exceptional performance and excellent combinations printing capabilities in the proven Varyflex press platform.”
