Komori America announced that family-owned Standard Press, located in Atlanta since 1932, has recently installed a six-color, 40” Komori Lithrone press with coater (GL640C) equipped with Komori’s proprietary H-UV system.
Standard Press services a variety of clients that include Fortune 500 companies, universities and advertising agencies. The full-service commercial printer has built a reputation on providing both high-quality work, as well as customer service. The addition of the new Komori press underscores Standard Press’ commitment to answer customer requirements for dramatic special effects, as well as cross-platform compatibility with H-UV and conventional inks and coatings.
“We have been a fan of Komori since we installed our first Komori press in 2001,” said Andy Shulman, president of Standard Press. “We have had so much success with the first two presses, purchasing the GL640 was an easy decision. We are 100% sold on the benefits of H-UV. We know it is going to bring unparalleled efficiencies to our production process, as well as allow us to produce an even higher quality product for our customers.”
Komori’s H-UV system is an innovative curing system designed to improve overall pressroom efficiency with a drying process so fast, sheets can be sent to the finishing department direct from the press delivery, significantly speeding time to market. With just one lamp mounted in the delivery, the system offers high print quality and reliability, as well as excellent economics and eco-friendly performance. Other key features of the new press include fully automated makeready and plate changing to support the company’s goal to achieve a higher level of efficiency through faster makeready time and less waste.
