The Center for Ink and Printability at Westerm Michigan University (WMU), Sun Chemical and Wikoff Color are hosting an Ink Seminar coverign every printing process from Aug. 21-23, 2013 at WMU’s College of Engineering and Applied Science in Kalamazoo, MI.
The semiar is designed for a wde range of people, including ink suppliers, ink formulators, press operators, paper suppliers, designers, print buyers and management, or anybody with a stake in improving the consistency of graphic quality from concept through press.
Speakers include:
• Dr. Alexandra “Sasha” Pekarovicova: A professor of the Department of Paper Engineering, Chemical Engineering and Imaging at WMU since 1996, her research interests are mainly in rotogravure printing, ink and paper interactions, printability analysis, ink chemistry and printed electronics. She was appointed to the TAGA board of directors and she is serving there her as a vice president of research papers.
• Veronika Husovska: A doctoral student at WMU, Ms. Husovska worked at Flint Ink for three years as well as Silberline, and is focusing her studies on deinkability of inkjet printed media and recycling.
• Dr. Don Duncan: Wikoff Color’s director of research, as well as currently serving as the president for TAGA, president of RadTech North America and co-chair of the Printing and Packaging Focus Group, a committee within RadTech.
• Veronika Lovell: A senior color scientist/chemist at Sun Chemical’s Color Research Lab, where she works in the areas of color, inks and substrate for all ink applications. She leads projects on development of computer-based color matching systems for offset, gravure, flexographic and inkjet printing. She sits on the International Color Consortium (ICC) steering committee and works closely with other committees and standardization bodies in the graphic industry while actively presenting and co-chairing graphic community conferences.
