Sun Chemical’s Performance Pigments Division announced a price increase on pigments globally, effective immediately. The price increase affects classical azo and phthalo, high performance, pearlescents, preparations, and flushes between 5 and 30 percent depending on the pigment type or concentration.
Imported raw material costs continue to escalate due to the elimination of China’s tax rebate and plant closures. Sun Chemical Performance Pigments will continue to focus on the interests of its customers, ensuring that customers benefit from continuous product customization and from the production of high quality pigments.
“While Performance Pigments continues to make energy efficient and quality maximizing manufacturing changes, the need remains to offset rising costs through price increases,” added Brian Leen, vice president and general manager for Performance Pigments.
