DIC Corporation announced that its Board of Directors resolved to implement the following changes to the company’s representative directors. These changes will be implemented to further reinforce and enhance the company’s management framework, as well as with the aim of improving corporate value.
Takashi Ikeda has been appointed president and CEO and representative director effective Jan. 1, 2024. Ikeda previously served as managing executive officer. Kaoru Ino will be stepping down as president and CEO and will now serve as chairman of the Board of Directors and representative director. Shuji Furuta, who also served as managing executive officer, has been named representative director and executive vice president.
Ikeda joined DIC Corporation in April 1990 after completing the master’s degree program at the Graduate School of Science and Technology, Keio University. In June 2001, Ikeda earned his MBA, Kellogg School of Management, Northwestern University. In 2013, Ikeda became director, Sun Chemical Corporation.
In 2019, Ikeda was appointed GM, Functional Products Business Planning Department, and in 2020, he was named executive officer and GM, Composite Material Products Division. In 2021, Ikeda was chosen as president, Functional Products Business Group, and GM, Composite Material Products Division, and in January 2022, he became managing executive officer in addition to his other roles.
Furuta earned his BBA, Department of Business Administration, College of Business Administration, Yokohama National University in 1987, and joined DIC in April 1987. In January 2016, Furuta was named GM, Finance Department, and was promoted in 2019 to executive officer, head of Finance and Accounting Unit. In January 2021, Furuta was named DIUC’s CFO, and added managing executive officer to his reponsibilities in January 2022.
