As of Jan. 1, 2019, the COIM group has started the production of inks for flexible packaging under the brand name Coiminks.
Coiminks inks and varnishes, produced at both the San Martino in Strada and Offanengo sites, are serving the EMEA market. The Vinhedo San Paolo plant is running for production and sales in the NAFTA and South America areas.
COIM is already present in the flexible packaging industry with the Novacote line. Novacote adhesives and coatings have been a solid reference point for food and pharmaceutical packaging manufacturers for many years now. Coiminks will rely on the same research and development structure and commercial technical service that is available in four different continents to provide customers with global knowledge and local presence, in line with the COIM group philosophy.
“The food and pharmaceutical packaging market make up for almost 25% of worldwide turnover for the COIM group,” said Alessandro Passerini, CEO of COIM EMEA. “Now thanks to this integration, we expect to consolidate our position by offering our customers a complete solution: inks, adhesives, and coatings that will meet the needs of a continuously evolving technological industry.”
“The project is very challenging,” added Ivo Sensini, Coiminks division manager. “We have been working alongside the group R&D activities to develop 100% polyurethane ink systems that are able to meet the increasing performance needs of our customers. These products are in addition to the standard production currently used by industry converters. “
