Sales: $75 million (and more than $100 million in ink sales, equipment and supplies, Ink World estimate).
Major Products: Screenprinting, digital and narrow web inks, including conventional, UV and water-based.
Key Personnel: Mike Fox, CEO; Richard Bowles, president; Phil McGugan, VP, sales and technical support; James MacDonald, VP, global marketing; Mike McGowan, VP and technical director; Jim Davidson, VP, global operations; Mike Harjung, VP, narrow web business unit.
Operating Facilities: Five in the U.S., UK, Singapore and Mexico.
Comments: A longtime leader in the North American screenprinting ink industry, Nazdar has developed a strong presence in the inkjet ink field as the screenprinting industry has transitioned toward digital printing technologies.
Richard Bowles, Nazdar’s president, said that the company enjoyed strong growth in a number of key markets, including UV/LED screen and digital inks, industrial screen printing inks and digital OEM services
“Nazdar experienced significant growth in 2015, largely due to expansion in international markets,” Bowles said. “UV LED is seeing significant growth, and Nazdar already has several years experience producing these inks.”
Printers and brand owners alike are constantly facing more regulations. Bowles said that Nazdar’s extensive experience and knowledge in this area is helping its customers navigate these challenges.
“Nazdar has extensive regulatory assistance capabilities, and we are well versed in both USA domestic and international concerns,” he added.
Currency fluctuations are another concern facing global ink companies. “As an international manufacturing company, the recent exchange rate fluctuations have presented a significant challenge,” Bowles noted.
All in all, Bowles anticipates a good year ahead for Nazdar. “2016 has started off well for Nazdar; we typically see increased demand in US political years,” Bowles concluded.
