Comments: Headquartered in Eppstein, Germany, RUCO Druckfarben offers a strong portfolio of screen, pad, UV dry offset, flexo and gravure printing inks that are delivered to customers in more than 70 countries worldwide via a close-knit network of distributors.
Considering the stagnating market for its main product lines, RUCO Druckfarben had a fairly satisfactory year in 2014, although the rise in raw material prices due to currency exchange effects did have a negative impact on the company.
In keeping with the company’s strategy of continually optimizing its product range to meet the most stringent demands in terms of print quality, environmental compatibility, consumer safety and user friendliness, RUCO completed the gradual introduction of a new generation of particularly eco- and consumer-friendly pad printing inks.
These new inks are completely free from any solvents, which according to the latest findings are potentially carcinogenic, mutagenic or toxic to reproduction (CMR). All the raw materials used comply with the requirements of the REACH directive and are in accordance with the current regulations laid down in the Swiss Ordinance. Members of the new product family include T120 (main field of application: bottle caps) and T200 (universal use) inks, as well as T35 inks that are particularly suitable for the highly sensitive area of toy decoration.
In 2014, RUCO launched its new 937UV-LED screen printing inks – a product series of particular interest to those in the field of glass and ceramic decoration. 937UV-LED inks are universally curing, which means they are suitable both for use on machines with mercury- or iron-charged standard UV-lamps as well as for curing using UV-LED technology. In both cases, the ink’s adhesion properties are available immediately after printing.
For the printer, this means a valuable savings in time combined with maximum process reliability. Whether cured under standard UV lamps or UV-LED lamps, 937UV-LED inks feature excellent adhesion as well as very good resistance to chemicals, water and abrasion. Excellent results are also achieved in terms of dishwasher and frost resistance. Due to their high level of reactivity, they allow for high production speeds.
As with all RUCO inks, the new series was developed in the company’s in-house R&D facilities and comes with the quality label “Secure in Print Processing,” which guarantees high stability, supreme quality and excellent reproducibility of print results in all printing processes.
