Job Description:
The Development Laboratory Technician will assist in the development and introduction of alternative Flushed Color and Pigment processes. New and existing sources of raw materials will also be evaluated using industry standard quality tests. Conducts experiments as assigned. Technical support includes trouble shooting production processes in plant scale.
Responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
- Develops alternative Flush and Pigment processes in lab scale and assists in plant scale introduction.
- Raw material testing and evaluation according to established protocols and procedures.
- Accurately reports observations/deviations of all experimental work and formulates relevant conclusions.
- Assists Process Control personnel, including off-shifts, with plant product troubleshooting.
- Performs accurate computer data entry of specifications, test results and related records.
- Compliance to company policies and procedures
- General math and basic computer skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and implement procedures as required.
- Must work well in a team environment.
- Minimum 2 years of college chemistry education. BSc in a science field preferable.
- Experience in a chemical, pigment or ink laboratory preferable.
