Technical Services Representative



The Ink In-Plant Technician will be part of the Specialty Products group and be located in the Tucker, GA Preprint facility. This position will report to the Quality Coordinator in Indianapolis, IN. Job Description
The Ink In-Plant Technician will be part of the Specialty Products group and be located in the Tucker, GA Preprint facility.  This position will report to the Quality Coordinator in Indianapolis, IN.  The Specialty Products group provides printing inks, printing plates, and related services to flexographic packaging printers, both within International Paper and to customers outside of International Paper.

Key Functions
The Ink In-Plant Technician is responsible for providing on-site technical service and assistance to the Tucker, GA Preprint facility.  This position will provide all ink related needs for our Preprint customer.  Specific functions include: ink manufacturing, color matching, inventory control, press-side toning and trouble shooting, completing daily usage reports with Microsoft Excel, housekeeping, participating in safety training and supporting the overall efficiencies of the customer.  Some travel may be required to provide support and training to other Preprint locations.

Interested candidates should have at least 5-7 years of experience with water-based flexographic printing inks, preferably as an in-plant.  Candidates will also have excellent press side technical and troubleshooting skills, color matching ability, be detail oriented and have excellent verbal and written communication skill.  Since heavy customer contact is required, the ability to communicate effectively and in a pleasant manner is essential.  Excellent computer skills are desirable.  Positive attitude, willingness to take on special projects, and initiative.  Must be capable of working and contributing within a team environment.
