INX International Ink Co. announced the formation of Innovative Solutions INX (ISI), with its acquisition of Innovative Solutions, Inc., a leading designer, integrator and manufacturer of digital printers and related products.
“This represents a major step forward in serving commercial printing and packaging customers who want to expand into digital printing,” said Rick Clendenning, INX president and CEO. “ISI’s background and proven expertise in electronics design engineering and system integration is a perfect fit. It will enable us to help design and implement more-effective digital capabilities within existing print environments.”
“We’re enthused about new opportunities provided by combining resources,” noted Jim Lambert, president of Innovative Solutions INX. “Moving forward, I see us getting involved as an integrator in large digital projects. Partnering with INX International and its expertise in ink chemistry, will also allow us to look at a broader range of solutions — customers who have unique digital application requirements.”
Added Randy LaCaze, Innovative Solutions’ founder and chief technical officer (CTO) of Innovative Solutions INX, “This frees us up to do what we do best: technology. We can more fully focus on R&D – finding ways in which digital products apply to traditional print markets, and adapting or developing new products and systems to meet the need.”
Mr. LaCaze brings more than 25 years of product design and development experience to his new post, including employment as a design engineer for SCI systems and Lockheed Missiles and Space. His hardware and software development credentials range from avionics controls for the F-16 fighter to patented processes in the digital printing arena.
Formed as an engineering consulting company in 1984, Innovative Solutions has been in superwide and wide format digital printing applications since 1997, specializing in printer hardware for outdoor billboards.
Just over a year ago, INX International stepped strongly into the digital marketplace, joining forces with California-based Triangle Digital LLC to form Triangle Digital INX Co. (TDI), offering digital inks and application services.
“We are delighted with TDI’s success to date,” noted Mr. Clendenning. “Innovative Solutions INX not only complements TDI offerings along with our own, but brings new synergies that can multiply benefits to all of our customers.”
