Hexion Specialty Chemicals, Inc. is the latest U.S. ink manufacturer to be announced as an official ink partner with digital inkjet printhead manufacturer Xaar plc of Cambridge, UK.
This ink agreement relates specifically to Hexion’s range of HexIJet UV curable inks that are specially designed for high performance digital inkjet printing. Hexion Specialty Chemicals is the world’s largest producer of thermosetting resins and a leading producer of UV-curable materials.
“We are very excited by our partnership with Hexion, and this announcement of their official ink partner status takes us another significant step forward,” said Dr. Jill Woods, Xaar ink product manager. “Together with Hexion, we will begin to explore a range of niche industrial applications that have not been open to us before.”
“Hexion has built a solid UV inkjet platform for the graphic arts market, which can be tailored by our team of formulators to target niche industrial applications, specifically where adhesion to substrates is an issue,” said Paul Lindquist, Hexion business development manager, said. “Our manufacturing facilities are flexible enough to accommodate short product runs and we can quickly adapt products and technologies to meet customer and marketplace needs.”
