Dantex Group has been working with ink and coating specialist ACTEGA to integrate ECOLEAF technology into its PicoJet range of digital UV inkjet presses. With ECOLEAF providing an eco-friendly alternative to hot and cold foiling, the move highlights Dantex's commitment to innovation and sustainability in the digital inkjet label sector.
The partnership between Dantex and ACTEGA is driven by a shared ambition to introduce value-added solutions to the digital inkjet label industry. By incorporating ECOLEAF's eco-friendly technology, Dantex aims to bring even more appeal to its print systems by elevating the printing experience and expanding the range of stunning effects achievable with PicoJet.
Designed for a broad variety of markets, ECOLEAF is a digital solution enabling metallization embellishments onto self-adhesive labels. Traditional foiling methods typically result in 80-90% waste of foil, whereas ECOLEAF utilizes a glue trigger layer shaped like the intended image, to significantly reduce waste. This process jets aluminum particles, adhering them to the glue layer to create a metallic image. This approach not only eliminates waste, it also allows for the creation of multiple metallic colors.
“We are excited to introduce this eco-friendly technology to our PicoJet range of digital UV inkjet presses, and we believe that this partnership will help us to achieve our sustainability goals while providing our customers with highly innovative and visually impactful solutions,” said Ben Danon, CEO of Dantex Group. “Both parties strongly emphasize the environmental and sustainability benefits of this collaboration.”
Alongside the integration of ECOLEAF, the current PicoJet range already offers numerous features, including the addition of new DRS (Digital Resolution System) and printhead technology powered by Ricoh, as well as user-friendly PicoCenta and PicoPilot software with intuitive touchscreen interfaces.
Delivering enhanced print quality and performance even at high speeds, product development such as SuperText, SuperWhite and SuperTactile technologies are also included, offering a wide range of finishing solutions for end-to-end label manufacturing.
