North Americas Carbon Balanced Printer Program announced its first printer partner. Hudson Printing, based in Salt Lake City, UT has been signed into the program to further reduce its impact on the environment.
The Carbon Balanced Printer program offers its partners the opportunity to carbon balance paper and print services. Members that have measured their own carbon footprint offset those emissions with the global conservation group World Land Trust in order to become Carbon Balance Printer certified.
Funds for the World Land Trust are raised through the program to protect and restore threatened natural habitats in Mexico, Ecuador, Guatemala, and Vietnam. Through this the World Land Trust preserves important ecosystems while preserving CO2 release through deforestation and degradation.
“At Hudson Printing, we believe in the power of print. We also acknowledge that our industry is resource intensive and that our choices as a business make a difference,” said CEO and owner Paul Hudson. “As such, we have been working hard on out LOOP sustainability initiative to reuse, recycle and partner with the most responsible suppliers in the industry.”
In part of the Carbon Balanced Print and Paper program, companies can utilize the World Land Trust logo on their paper and print. Companies also receive a certificate of their total CO2 balanced and land area preserved.
Hudson added, “taking responsibility for our carbon impact was the natural next step and we are thrilled to be a part of the new Carbon Balanced Printer program in North America. Sustainability is important to the people at Hudson and important to our customers. While we work to reduce our carbon impact, we are delighted that out offset commitment supports the conservation efforts of World Land Trust.”
