W+D North America, leader in envelope printing, converting direct mail and ballot inserting technology announced it will showcase the new W+D i-Jet 3 inkjet overnight press at the upcoming Printed United Expo.
This is the third generation of W+D’s inkjet overnight press models that will feature the new Memjet Durabolt production class print engine. The W+D i-Jet 3 is capable of printing 36,000+ #10 envelopes per hour at its highest resolution of 160 x 1280 dpi. It also features a wider 12.77” print head with new bleed features practically running all jobs faster in landscape mode. The integration of HALM’s paper and envelope feeder is critical to i-Jet 3’s high-speed nonstop output performance.
Xitron color management and workflow automations are incorporated to the overall press controls for fast and easy job set up. With lower-priced and water-resistant pigmented inks, more workflow automation features and longer-life Durabolt print heads this printer offers a lower total cost of operations broader product range flexibility.
“As we move forward with further inkjet adoption in the mailing industry, the strongest well-positioned printers will be the ones doing more with less press hardware, people, and total infrastructure. The winners will have high net output capabilities, exceptional print quality, ease of use as well as the lowest total coast of operation. Maximizing production efficiencies is what W+D is all about as we are best known for our high-performance envelope, mailing and e-commerce solutions. The new W+D i-Jet 3 now incorporates a host of new features that will allow printers to complete more profitability with inkjet in both short runs of 100 to now longer runs of 500,000+ units as inkjet adoption rapidly increases,” said VP of marketing and strategic sales Andrew Schipke.
