Swiss commercial printing company Wallimann Druck & Verlag has purchased Koenig & Bauer’s Rapida 76. The high-end sheetfed offset press has been installed in the company’s Beromünster production facility.
The Rapida 76 is a five-color, inline coater expecting to boost production efficiency by allowing faster makeready and higher printing speeds with top print quality. It is highly automated and prints substrates in thicknesses from 0.04 to 0.8 mm across a format range of 530 x 750 mm down to A4. The press includes the DriveTronic feeder and the sidelay- free infeed DriveTronic SIS. A fully automatic plate changing system is designed to handle unbent plates. Fully automatic, uninterrupted printing sequences are possible through an ‘AutoRun’ function through TouchTronic operating and console concept, and individual inking units can be disengaged from the control console.
The Rapida 76 includes QualiTronic ColorControl an extremely fast and precise inline measuring and control system with automatic register capabilities and simultaneous washing systems that operate in tandem to other makeready processes. It also comes equip with the VariDryBlue system, which includes energy efficient dryers combined with a fully automatic coating supply and cleaning system to create high-quality finishing at high production speeds and ultra-fat makeready.
This new press has been seamlessly integrated into Wallimann Druck & Verlag’s workflow with LogoTronic the production management system. LogoTronic outlines important performance indicators for real-time analyses or KPI benchmarking.
“The purchase of the Rapida 76 lays an important foundation for the future of our company. The new press will enable us to slash makeready times and expand our production capacities and ensures that we can continue to wow customers with our high-quality print products in the future.
