Campbell Print Center, a commercial printer in Harrisonburg, VA, installed a Versafire EM and a Versafire EV from Heidelberg to keep up with the productivity and efficiency needs of its customers.
The 5-color Versafire EV offers Campbell Print Center reliable production that is perfected on up to 27.5” substrates, while also offering a variety of new quality capabilities to the company’s offerings.
In addition to CMYK standard jobs, the engine expands the gamut with 5-color rendering using neon yellow or neon pink.
Also, the company can include embellishments with the fifth color options, which include white, clear varnish, neon yellow, neon pink, and new invisible red.
Thanks to the Versafire EV, Campbell Print center can print on colored paper or clear synthetics and produce extraordinary effects while printing white first and then process CMYK colors on top, all in one pass.
“It’s crucial for us to provide our customers with the best print job possible,” said John Beery, president of Campbell Print Center. “Thanks to the Versafire EV, we have the quality of an offset press, but with the ability to do short-runs with very quick turnaround times.”
The Versafire EV prints at speeds up to 95 pages per minute.
In need of a new black and white digital press, Campbell Print Center chose the Versafire EM, which prints at 136 images per minute at 1,200 x 4,800 dpi.
The EM has a double toner cartridge bay and double set of vacuum fed paper drawers with 8,850 sheets per tray capacity.
“We choose Heidelberg equipment because of the quality. We know that if we want to produce great quality, we must buy quality. And that’s what Heidelberg provides," Beery said.
