Pulse Roll Label Products Ltd is partnering with GMG Color Ltd (UK) at Labelexpo Europe 2019 to present a closed-loop color management solution, combining the next evolution of its PureTone UV flexo printing inks with GMG’s latest solutions.
The ink manufacturers’ live color matching demos will showcase the new digital color assortment for the next evolution of its PureTone food packaging compliant (FPC) inks and, for the first time at a Labelexpo show, its PureAqua water-based flexo ink system.
Complementing this on Pulse Roll Label Products’ stand, GMG will use patented, award-winning GMG OpenColor to show how to use CxF measurement data demonstrating that digital proofing can accurately match flexo prints including brand and spot colors.
Digitally printed proofs on the Epson SureColor 5000 will be compared against UV flexo or water-based flexo drawdowns to show consistent color across all printing technologies.
“We’ve been talking about the value of digital color management for years now, and it was a key element of our total color management solution when we first launched our PureTone UV flexo ink system at Labelexpo back in 2015," said Mikaela Harding, product manager, Pulse Roll Label Products. "With more and more printers investing in digital printing to complement their existing flexo printing business, there is also a need to ensure that brand colors are consistent irrespective of the printing process. By matching digital devices to flexo presses, short runs can be completed on digital presses, with mid-longer runs using the flexographic process, ensuring an accurate color match across the different technologies, wherever you are in the world.”
Harding and Johannes Betz, head of marketing & Academy at GMG Color, will also present on complementary color topics during the Inks, Coatings and Varnishes Workshop on Friday, Sept. 27, 2019.
Betz will give a lecture on "Digital Color Communication - From the Ink Kitchen to the Customer" whilst Harding will talk about “Digital Color Control and Ink Management."
