Multi Packaging Solutions has been voted the coveted Packaging Company of the Year at the recent Packaging News UK Packaging Awards ceremony held at London’s Grosvenor Park Hotel.
Out of eight shortlisted companies for the award, MPS was judged the best overall Packaging Company of the Year based on development, innovation and overall performance. Since 2014, the business has successfully integrated 14 new manufacturing locations through multiple acquisitions.
“We’re delighted to be presented with this prestigious award, which is a credit to all our employees and reflects their hard work and dedication,” said Tim Whitfield, EVP European Branded Consumer. “The business has invested strongly in new equipment to improve its capabilities and provide customers with a greater range of production options to match their long-term needs. As well as new equipment, we’ve invested in employee training and development to ensure any investment in new assets is equally matched by investment in people. Today, MPS has 60 manufacturing sites, over 8,700 employees and operates from locations in North America, Europe and Asia. Although the business has a global reach, our philosophy has always been to offer local solutions to our customers.”
MPS is currently exploring the application of newly emerging technologies such as near field communication and how these interactive techniques can be best applied to packaging.
“We know packaging has to work hard on-the-shelf, aiding patient compliance or differentiating premium products in busy retail environments,” continued Whitfield. “At Multi Packaging Solutions, we protect and promote the world’s great brands as well as many more specialist niche businesses.”
