As the landscape for the printing and converting of corrugated substrates continues to change, INX International Ink Co. is developing solutions to help customers keep pace in meeting these needs. It’s also why INX will feature more specialized and advanced inks and coatings and digital inkjet technologies at the upcoming SuperCorr Expo, Oct. 17-20 at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando.
“The corrugated market continues to look at what print solutions will provide the best match for quality, speed, versatility and economics,” remarked Jim Wegemer, director of national accounts for INX. “As we move forward, digital printers that fit well with the corrugated industry will expand and more digital print equipment will be acquired by corrugated customers. A combination of conventional print formats and digital print solutions can be a win-win for corrugated needs.”
INX manufactures ink for the Engico Aqua 250, an industrial press used for direct printing on solid and corrugated boards and other paper-based materials. The JetINX Printhead Drive and Recirculation system supplies components and printing subsystems to integrators, print manufacturers and end-users. Wegemer says JetINX can be a lucrative door opener for printing on a variety of non-standard surfaces.
“As with other INX digital printer solutions, the MD series of flatbed printers is based on the JetINX platform. For those corrugated users who are looking at samples, prototypes and shorter production needs, an MD printer may be the type of solution that you are looking for.”
Proven, high quality inks in the corrugated market begin with INXStar and TriStar SpH. The INXStar series works well for corrugated facilities with process printing capabilities that are looking to maximize their graphic results. They provide high densities and strength levels that allow for clean printing and excellent traps with up to 1000 line screen anilox rolls. TriStar SpH offers improved pH-viscosity stability and brilliant color density on mottled and coated substrates, in addition to excellent drying capability and great rub resistance.
“The INXStar and TriStar product lines are an important part of our solution. Quality is a given, so it goes beyond that,” indicated Wegemer. “The ability for our customers to run at faster speeds with a few line colors, or with more complex jobs using 6-, 7- or 8-color presses while utilizing both water-based and UV coatings, has been growing. These inks and our existing platforms help customers with the ever changing demands they face daily.”
With the INXSperse line of 23 and 23 Plus Series water-based dispersions, printers can experience complete control over their inventory. The highly pigmented color concentrates are designed to produce a full range of inks that are used for diverse applications on a variety of substrates.
