From June 9-11, the SDW (Security Document World) 2015 conference was held, with than 110 exhibitors and 1,700 visitors from 70+ nations meeting in Westminster, London.
The three-day conference was used as a platform to network between the industry’s top movers from government and industry sectors for document security, e-passports, visas, driving licenses, national IDs, worker credentials, advanced border control, anti-counterfeiting, fraud detection and much more.
As an exhibitor, Flint Group Flexographic Products showcased its plate portfolio for security and banknote printing as well as the latest generation of processing equipment.
The highlight of Flint Group’s presentation was a new product development: nyloprint WS W Digital. The new letterpress plate shows improved reproduction characteristics for the printing of finest micro-text and guilloche patterns in combination with the nyloprint NExT Exposure, a technology that is based on the latest generation of UV-A LEDs for improved reproducibility and further reduction of production tolerances.
For coating applications, there was customer interest in the new water washable nyloprint WA 116 S and WA 116 S Digital plates, which enable security printers to produce their coating plates in-house instead of sourcing them from external suppliers.
