Air Products has issued its latest Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) Sustainability Report (G3.1 Guidelines), which has again been assessed by GRI as Application Level A+.
“Sustainability is a core value, a driver of Air Products’ growth, and an important element of our relationships with customers, shareholders, our 20,000 employees, and hundreds of operating communities around the world,” said Chairman, President and CEO Seifi Ghasemi in his letter to stakeholders.
The company’s latest report details performance and progress across economic, environmental and social areas, aligned under the themes of Grow, Conserve and Care:
• Grow: More than 60 percent of the company’s prior-year revenues were from improving customers’ energy efficiency and emissions. Progress made on environmental sustainability targets, particularly energy consumption, contributes millions annually to Air Products’ bottom line.
• Conserve: The company designs its plants and manages its operations against environmental sustainability goals to reduce greenhouse gases, waste, emissions, energy, and water use. Air Products has either already achieved these goals or is tracking to achieve them by 2015.
• Care: The company is striving for zero accidents and zero incidents, tied to its goal of becoming the safest and most profitable industrial gas company in the world, providing excellent service to customers. Air Products’ social responsibility approach also includes employee development, diversity and inclusion, community support, supplier relations, and governance practices.
Recognized for Sustainability Leadership
Air Products was recognized for its sustainability commitment and practices, including being named to the 2014/2015 Dow Jones Sustainability World and North America Indexes, the 2014 CDP Global 500 Climate Disclosure Leadership Index, and one of the 100 Best Corporate Citizens List for CR Magazine for 2014, among others.
