Johnson Polymer, LLC will discontinue its global technical and commercial alliance with Essential Industries of Merton, WI, effective Dec. 31, 2004. The companies joined forces to leverage their polyurethane chemistry capabilities in April 2001.
The decision to dissolve the joint venture is mutual, said L. Alan Henshaw, Johnson Polymer vice president.
“Dissolving the global technology alliance will allow both of our companies to better focus on our core technologies and strengths,” Mr. Henshaw said. The urethane products currently sold by Johnson Polymer and its distributors will be available through Essential Industries beginning Jan. 1, 2005.
This decision does not impact the long-term contract manufacturing agreement between Johnson Polymer and Essential.
