Meyers dates back to 1949, starting out as a small print shop producing sheetfed printed materials. The company added flexographic printing to its capabilities in the 1960s.
Growth followed.
Meyers built and moved into a larger headquarters in Brooklyn Park, MN around 1990.
“This allowed Meyers to expand beyond the clients we served in the Twin Cities area into serving the top brands across the nation and even globally,” said Christopher Dillon, president at Meyers. “The 1990s also created new opportunities for Meyers in providing technology solutions that supported our print offering, including technologies to create and print barcodes and authentication codes, print on demand solutions, and web-to-print solutions.
“Today, we serve a wide variety of industries with a similarly wide variety of print solutions and count several Fortune 500 companies among the list of clients who have worked with us consistently for well over a decade.”
Meyers, which holds G7 Master Qualification, specializes in manufacturing labels, cards, product packaging, signage and displays.
“We work with clients across many industries, with our greatest focus being on food brands, retailers and grocery stores, health and beauty companies and the life sciences industry,” Dillon said. “More recently, we’ve increased our focus on selling paper RFID key cards to hotels and resorts.”
Meyers uses traditional lithographic and traditional flexographic, digital lithographic, digital flexographic and hybrid digital/flexo printing processes.
To differentiate itself, Meyers offers a wide range of printing services from labels to packaging to retail displays and more, “allowing our clients to achieve greater brand consistency and impeccable color match across all their printed products, while managing fewer vendors,” according to Dillon.
“As a family business, we’re agile in our decision making and focused on long-term relationships, allowing us to help our clients solve their strategic challenges more quickly,” he said.
The company holds a set of values: Integrity, accountability, collaboration, learning, innovation and passion.
Meyers also boasts an 89% employee retention rate.
When it comes to an ink supplier, Dillon said it comes down to one thing: Consistency.
“Our pressroom operates many presses, printing both new and repeat work,” he continued. “In order to successfully meet customer expectations, we need to run inks that very consistently deliver on color, print quality, and press performance. As a result, we partner with those ink suppliers that understand these needs and are committed to delivering on them, every time.”
Because it serves essential businesses – including food supply and medical industries – Meyers remained open and operated at full capacity during the pandemic.
In October, Meyers committed to obtaining all its electricity from carbon-free sources by the end of 2021.
Earlier this year, Meyers acquired the sheetfed business unit from Insignia Systems, Inc.
The company was awarded the Sodexo Strategic Partner of the Year Award in 2016. It also received Hormel’s No. 1 Award for 2017 performance as a supplier.
