Environmental and safety regulations have become an increasingly important topic for all businesses, including the printing ink industry. Dan Shevkun, director manufacturing services at Superior Printing Ink, is one of the leaders in this field.
Looking for a job, Shevkun joined the printing ink industry 43 years ago. “In 1974, I needed a job, and found one doing laboratory work for Lewis Roberts in Newark, NJ,” Shevkun noted.
In 1982, Shevkun was hired by Superior Printing Ink. He started out in manufacturing, and moved into data and quality control, where he was key to the company’s earning ISO 9001 certification.
Soon after, Shevkun was brought into Superior Printing Ink’s Safety and Environmental Services team, which he leads, and brings his expertise to NAPIM’s environmental, health and safety committees.
