The Radiation Curing Program (RCP) announced that John J. Stancampiano is the first to earn an Advance Certificate in Radiation Curing from the State University of New York (SUNY). This certificate is a graduate-level online program offered by RCP and developed by SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry (SUNY-ESF), in partnership with RadTech International, North America and others.
“RCP bridges academic and professional development in the area of radiation curable inks and coatings,” said Charles Spuches, SUNY-ESF associate provost and RCP director. “The program provides a focused and practical education that is designed with special consideration and support for professionals who work full-time or for students matriculated at other institutions.”
To qualify for the Advanced Certificate in Radiation Curing, participants must complete all three 500-level RCP courses for credit with a cumulative grade of at least 3.0. The courses include Introduction to Polymer Coatings, Radiation Curing of Polymer Technologies and Radiation Curing Equipment, Instrumentation & Safety. All are taught online by a team of leading industry professionals and academics.
“I decided to pursue the certificate because I wanted to invest in my future,” said Stancampiano. “It was the rigorous program that I couldn’t find elsewhere. I now have credentials from SUNY demonstrating a proficiency in radiation curing.”
“This certification gives university students a competitive advantage when they enter the workforce – with radiation curing applications rapidly emerging in a wide range of industries including 3D printing, food packaging, furniture, automotive and electronics,” said Gary Cohen, executive director of RadTech. “And, since all courses are online, it offers the convenience of taking them anywhere and at any time.”
In addition to the graduate level courses, RCP offers short courses in Principles of Energy Curing Technologies and Basics of UV Curable 3D Printing. Learn more about RCP at www.radcuring.com or email radcuring@esf.edu.
