A look at the future will be the emphasis of this year’s National Printing Ink Research Institute’s (NPIRI) Annual Technical Conference, which will be held by the National Association of Printing Ink Manufacturers (NAPIM) Oct. 2-4 at the Marco Island Marriott Resort and Golf Club in Florida.
With the help of the moderators and fellow committee members, conference chair Robert Peters of Kohl & Madden Printing Ink and co-chair Diane Parisi of Flint Ink Corporation have put together a conference with topics ranging from Six Sigma to perspectives of print buyers.
Among the scheduled highlights arethe twoShort Course offerings, the first on Six Sigma and the second an Energy Curing Update, this time from the perspective of equipment and consumables, which opens the conference.
Dr. Ronnie Davis, chief economist for the Printing Industries of America, will deliver the keynote address on the latest trends in the print market. Also, Mary Steermann of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons will offera print buyer’s perspective during the opening session.
There will also be concurrent fluid and paste ink sessions; the poster board sessions sponsored by Carroll Scientific; the NPIRI Lecture Competition, sponsored by Eastman Resins; and the tabletop presentations.
In addition, the NPIRI Award for Technical Achievement and Technical Associate Member Service Awards will be presented at the Awards Dinner on Thursday evening.
Aside of the conference,there will also be a golf tournament and a tour of theEverglades.
All in all, the conference should provide a strong program.
