Comments: Having just celebrated in 50th anniversary in 2021, Quad/Graphics is transforming its business in recent years. Once one of the two largest publication printers, Quad has shifted to the creative field, becoming a leading marketing solutions provider. Quad/Graphics produces the majority of its inks at its Chemical ResearchTechnology (CRT) subsidiary, and does not sell inks outside of Quad.
In 2021, Quad’s net sales increased 1% to $3 billion. Adjusted EBITDA was $246 million in 2021, as compared to $260 million in 2020, and free cash flow was $87 million in 2021. Quad reported that it has reduced net debt by $410 million or 40% over the past two years, reaching debt leverage of 2.5x.
“Our sales growth and strong execution helped us drive strong full-year results, including a 3% increase in net sales excluding divestitures,” said Joel Quadracci, chairman, president and CEO of Quad. “Those results were supported by higher print volumes, including print segment share gains from new clients, continued growth in Agency Solutions, and increased pricing in response to inflationary cost pressures.”
