Ricoh’s production print customers are set to benefit from an even greater range of finishing capabilities, following the successful acquisition of Albyco, a prominent player in the graphics business.
A Netherlands-based business, Albyco, specializes in finishing solutions for a broad variety of print-related products for digital graphic communications label, signage and packaging applications. The integration of Albyco’s expertise into Ricoh’s expanding suite of products enhances the company’s end-to-end print solutions offering, benefiting Ricoh’s production print customers with an extended range of finishing capabilities.
This strategic move expands Ricoh’s production print finishing capabilities across Europe and aligns with Ricoh’s commitment to delivering innovative solutions to its customers worldwide.
Albyco customers will have ready access to Ricoh’s comprehensive portfolio of Graphic Communications solutions, designed to help them grow and prosper. For Ricoh, the acquisition further supports its continued focus on the Graphic Communications market in line with evolving customer needs, while further cementing its status as a leader in this space.
The agreement will see Ricoh welcome Albyco’s workforce to the business, complementing existing expertise and capabilities. Jos van Uum, Albyco’s managing director, will remain in his current role and continue to grow Albyco’s business.
“We are delighted to welcome Albyco to the Ricoh family,” said Alberto Mariani, chief digital investment officer, Ricoh Europe. “Ricoh continues to invest in acquisitions that support our long term growth and differentiation on the market, continually adding value for our global customer base.”
“This exciting acquisition is a move that reinforces our dedication to driving innovation in the print industry, we call it HENKAKU, which is the Japanese word for transformational innovation,” Eef de Ridder, VP Graphic Communications Group, said. “We are seeing growing demand for top-tier finishing capabilities in wide format and inkjet/toner printing at a commercial scale and rising interest from clients seeking end-to-end integrated solutions. Albyco’s strong reputation and proven track record in the graphic communications business makes it an excellent addition to the Ricoh family, further strengthening our collective capabilities.”
“This collaboration presents a tremendous opportunity to leverage synergies, drive innovation, and deliver even greater value to our customers,” van Uum noted. “I am pleased that we found in Ricoh the best possible home to support our customers and talented teams in the next phase of their journey.”
In 2022, Ricoh acquired Quadient’s graphics business in the Nordics (Denmark, Sweden, Finland and Norway) to further strengthen its production print finishing capabilities and grow its distribution of wide format inkjet equipment across the region.
