Ricoh USA announced the RICOH ProTM VC80000 high-speed inkjet webfed platform. Building on the success of previous models, ProTM VC80000 provides greater automation production, advanced floor integration, and closed loop quality control for efficient operation and application.
With a full duplex engine, the ProTM VC80000 is the smallest in its class measuring 32.8 feet. It incorporates latest generation ink and temperature-controlled inkjet heads, achieving a maximum resolution of 1200 x 1200 dpi and a maximum speed of 492 fpm (150 mpm).
Innovation and solutions manager Christian Haneke said, “the level of automation that the Pro VC80000 achieves, combined with the ability to produce high quality work 50% faster than our existing technology, will transform the way inkjet fits into the Sattler Media Group’s production planning.”
The ProTM VC80000 has ‘firefly’ technology and a smart configuration of small, heated rollers for faster start up times, bringing the press up to temperature in less time than a typical drying system.
Incorporated with RICOH Supervisor operational data is collected and deciphered directly from the RICOH Pro Scanner and other connected software. A spectrophotometer allows for the elimination of manual image adjustment, monitoring color reproduction in real time.
The fully incorporated RICOH Pro Scanner actively monitors multiple aspects of the print quality and reviews the performance of each head for the Pro VC80000to automatically compensate for nozzle outputs. Front-to-back and color-to-color registration are automatically controlled with immediately implemented corrections.
Smart Start allows for automated machine setup without the need for an operator. ProTM VC80000 provides highly automated quick paper setup and allows a new substrate to perform optimally. For nonstop production, auto-splicing units are also supported.
RICOH Pro VC80000 is supported by many different software’s including RICOH TotalFlow Produces, Fusion Pro, and RIOCH Auto Color Adjuster.
“Our high-speed inkjet customers share similar production challenges: they need high-speed capacity to fulfil large orders and tighter turnaround times, and tools to make operating their presses easier and more efficient,” said senior VP and general manager Gavin Jordan-Smith.
“The RICOH Pro VC80000 is built in what made the previous generation a customer favorite and is a testament to our commitment to helping customers solve their challenges. It sets a new standard in automation and data-first intelligence to increase productivity and usable output with consistency across operators and shifts. Following closely on the release of the B2 sheetfed RICOH ProTM Z75 and the RICOH ProTM C9500, it cements Ricoh’s status as a market leader in production printing,” Jordan-Smith added.
