Amcor has been awarded an A- by the Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP) as part of its annual ratings, recognizing the company’s ongoing sustainability commitment and achievements.
The news follows the recent publication of Amcor’s Sustainability Report, which highlights a number of key sustainability achievements in fiscal year 2022, as well as the new target on recycled content that will see Amcor work toward 30% recycled material across its portfolio by 2030.
“This year, we have continued to demonstrate our dedication to building a more sustainable future,” David Clark, vice president for Sustainability at Amcor, said. “We’ve increased our ambition, setting ourselves a new target on recycled material by 2030, committing to net zero emissions by 2050 and to setting science-based targets.
“Further to this, 83% of our flexible packaging portfolio had a recycle-ready solution available, and we’ve driven down waste-to-disposal from Amcor’s own operations by 33% in comparison to FY19. We know that to remain a leader in responsible packaging we must constantly innovate and dedicate ourselves to a better future. We’re proud that the CDP has recognized our efforts to do just that.”
