Nieman Printing, an award-winning, commercial, web, high-volume digital, grand format, G7 Master printer based in Dallas, added Agfa's Jeti Mira LED wide-format LED flatbed printer.
The company has nine large offset presses and three large-format UV devices with accompanying small-format digital equipment running 24/7.
“We were fairly close to capacity on our last hybrid and planning our next steps,” said Matt Nieman, chief operating officer at Nieman Printing. “The speed and quality of the Jeti Mira are impressive, and the ink savings makes us more competitive. We calculated a 60% savings in ink costs attributed to the Jeti Mira’s ‘thin ink layer’ technology. That’s what sold us.”
Agfa said the Jeti Mira LED offers a high pigment load of ink and lowers consumption while producing graphics with the feel of an offset print.
Nieman Printing chose the Jeti Mira MG2732 HS LED with six colors (CMYKLcLm) plus white with optional varnish and a roll-to-roll extension.
With speeds up to 2,669 ft²/hr (248 m²/hr), the Jeti Mira handles rigid media up to 2.69 m-wide, flexible media up to 2.05 m-wide and offers advanced LED curing for heat-sensitive substrates.
