Micro Powders launched a new series of micronized PTFE additives under the Fluo 400 series name.
These new fine powder products offer the lubricity, hardness and durability that PTFE is known for, while also being compliant with upcoming European PTFE regulations (REACH (EU) 2017/1000).
Fluo 400XF is the finest grade, ideal for thin-film applications such as can and coil coatings. Fluo 400G is a slightly coarser grade where ultrafine particle size is not critical.
Finally, Fluo 400SM is a dry powder based on aggregated nano spherical PTFE, useful for applications where gloss retention is important.
Water-based dispersions of the Fluo 400XF and Fluo 400SM grades are also available under the Microspersion product line for users who prefer handling a pourable liquid over a fine powder.
The Fluo 400 series powders and dispersions are now available for both sampling and commercial orders.
In addition to the launch of the Fluo 400 series, Micro Powders has transitioned all legacy PTFE based products, including popular grades like Polyfluo and Synfluo, to meet the REACH (EU) 2017/1000 requirements.
As of Jan. 1, 2020, the new production of these grades meets the July 4, 2020 requirements.
