Berlin Packaging announced its successful transition to ISO 9001:2015.
ISO certification, which is governed by the International Organization for Standardization, is the internationally-recognized standard for the quality management of businesses. It applies to the processes used by the company to deliver products and services and to the activities performed to ensure the needs and expectations of customers are met.
ISO certification also demands that the company is always working to continuously improve its outcomes. ISO 9001 requires both internal audits and independent audits of an organization’s Quality Management System.
Berlin Packaging’s ISO 9001 certification covers its operations, its sales force, and its in-house design division, Studio One Eleven.
Berlin Packaging first earned ISO certification in 2004.
The company said it has recorded more than 14 consecutive years of 99+% on-time delivery every month of warehouse shipments and 99+% of product shipments meeting all customer product specifications.
“Upgrading our ISO certification shows our commitment to quantifiable results since it helps us execute more precisely and offer more advantages that others in the industry cannot,” said Bryan MacKenzie, director of quality for Berlin Packaging. “By holding ourselves and our manufacturer-partners accountable, we steadily implement improvements to our processes that ultimately benefit our customers.”
Berlin Packaging requires Customer Business Reviews as part of its ISO certification.
Over the past three years, these ISO-related audits show customers earning more than $240 million more profit thanks to a partnership with Berlin Packaging.
