The Specialty Graphic Imaging Association (SGIA) chose two Durst large-format digital printers as 2018 Products of the Year in their respective categories.
The Durst Rhotex 325 dual-purpose fabric and soft-signage printer received the honor in the Roll-to-Roll Direct Disperse Ink on Textile category and the Delta WT 250 was awarded best RTR/Hybrid/Flatbed New Technology or Inkset category.
“Our Durst printing solutions offer print service providers the best option for producing exceptional output in an efficient manner to satisfy the clients, while simultaneously strengthening their operations,” said Tim Saur, CEO and managing director for Durst U.S. and Canada.
The Product of the Year Award Competition highlights the best digital imaging technologies that keep the specialty imaging community moving forward. More than 100 companies competed in the 2018 Product of the Year Awards, submitting 255 entries over the competition’s 74 categories – the largest field of competitors in the awards program’s history. All entries will be displayed at the 2018 SGIA Expo (Las Vegas, Oct. 18 - 20).
“Following the receipt of the 2017 European Digital Press Association award as the ‘Best Corrugated Solution’, the Delta WT 250 has emerged into an industry leading corrugated packaging and display printing solution”, said Saur. “The efficient high-end production of the Rhotex 325 is now confirmed as the market leader, winning back-to-back SGIA Product of the Year awards.”
Rhotex 325
Depending on the application and fabric, the 126-inch Rhotex 325 can alternate between direct- and transfer- to start textile production. This is possible, thanks to the new Durst WTS print head technology, which achieves a high-quality print using environmentally friendly water-based dispersion inks for various printing materials, and reaches a printing speed of up to 4,130 sq.ft/hr.
Delta WT 250
With Durst Water Technology, the Delta WT 250 is especially suitable for applications such as in-store displays, short-run packaging and prototyping. With Durst Water Technology inks and 1000dpi, the print is truly comparable to litho. It is capable of printing in single or dual sheet loading modes, with a fully automated load/unload option for maximum efficiency. Other benefits are a corrugated board hold-down system for warped board, automated media separation, and registration of +/- 0.5mm, as well as a media transport system that has a gearless direct drive to ensure the highest precision.
