By offering a combination of trusted brands, consistent products and OEM partnerships combined with ‘Best in Class’ manufacturing, Flint Group was well positioned at IPEX to help printers extend their printing capability in respect to new substrates and targeting new market sectors.
The XCURA EVO ink series featured heavily during the show. This ink series has been designed to help printers achieve maximum performance from new LED-UV presses and presses that have been retrofitted with a LED-UV curing system.
Fontain, a London based commercial printer, agreed to be the sole supplier of LED-UV ink for its brand new RMGT Ryobi 928P. This four-over-four perfecting press with LED-UV drying was also running live print jobs at IPEX.
"The new LED press represents an important part of our overall strategy of ongoing investment to guarantee that our clients always get the best possible print quality and to enhance our eco-friendly printing by further reducing our carbon footprint," said Huw Harcombe and Adam Frost, directors from Fontain. "The development work and experience in LED UV printing that Flint Group has invested in both people and the XCURA EVO ink and consumables range is clearly demonstrated. We are now looking forward to working with Flint Group to explore new markets and added value printing that LED UV printing can achieve. We are specifically interested in exploring a wider range of printing techniques including the use of opaque white and new substrates that conventional printing would find too challenging.”
The credentials of XCURA EVO were further enhanced by the decision of APEX Digital Graphics, the supplier of the RMGT Ryobi press to Fontain, to run live press demonstrations during IPEX using XCURA EVO as one of the preferred ink products.
Flint Group also announced at IPEX the global launch of Novastar D2000 IML BIO. This technically advanced fast oxidative drying ink series has been designed for in-mould labelling applications and is ideal for printing onto foil and other non-absorbent substrates.
"We are very excited by the decision of Fontain to use XCURA EVO on its new press, as this clearly recognizes the amount of work that has gone into formulating this ink to ensure it meets the needs of the latest LED-UV print technology," said Peter Baird, Flint Group Sheetfed marketing director EMEA.
