Several 20” digital printing presses from different manufacturers (e.g. Fuji 540 W) are offered in the market. All these presses, independent of the given inkjet technology, are limited in speed and print quality due to rising high thermal stress on the ink and printed substrates and too long dwell time between to print head arrangement and the given dryer solution, resulting from the installed hot drum dryer configuration.
Even under the extreme space constraints in the existing press layouts, an adphosNIR based pre-booster upgrade solution has been successfully engineered to allow an afterwards integration in the existing presses. The adphosNIR pre-booster upgrade provides an instantaneous ink setting after the PH arrangement and strong reduced thermal heating at the printed substrate. Significant enhanced color density has been proven, as well as less shrinkage combined with flat prints of the former wavy printed products. In addition a wider range of regular media are applicable with the adphosNIR booster upgrade.
