Johnson Polymer LLC has reached an amicable agreement with its partner, Toyo Ink Mfg. Co. Ltd., to purchase its remaining shares of the companies’ long standing joint venture, Johnson Polymer Corporation (JPC).
JPC is the leading supplier of water-based acrylics to the Japanese printing and packaging market, serving all major ink companies in Japan. Toyo agreed to sell its remaining shares of the JPC joint venture to Johnson Polymer, as it understands the strategic importance JPC holds for Johnson Polymer in the Asia Pacific region.
“I am delighted that JPC is now wholly-owned by Johnson Polymer, and feel that because of this, we will be in a better position to fully contribute to Johnson Polymer’s global business expansion,” said Shigeo Hijikata, president of JPC.
