Ynvisible Interactive Inc. announced its partnership with Identiv, Inc. The companies are collaborating by combining Ynvisible’s electrochromic (EC) display technology-based visual indicators with Identiv’s range of uTrust Sense Temperature Tracker products. Identiv’s award-winning uTrust Sense Temperature Tracker is a compact data logging NFC smart sensor that tracks and stores temperature readings. Identiv has designed the latest iteration and functionality of this industry-leading product line by incorporating Ynvisible’s EC display and technology. The partnership makes it possible to instantly visually identify the NFC smart sensors (or labels) that have experienced temperatures outside the allowed temperature range and require immediate attention. This capability increases operational efficiencies and introduces an additional layer of security in demanding supply-chain, cold-chain, healthcare, pharmaceutical, and government applications. Through the partnership, the core message — that the NFC-labeled product is stable and safe — can now be verified visually. “The integration of printed electronics with our NFC labels combines two brilliant technologies into one unique product,” said Vera Mauerberger, Identiv product manager, Transponders. “Working with Ynvisible on the integration of an electrochromic display opens new opportunities for Identiv, while allowing us to be more sustainable and flexible. This partnership paves the way for new, innovative customers and markets for our uTrust Sense product family.” “We see a lot of potential in the combination of electrochromic display, or visual identification technology, with NFC and RFID technologies and products. Electrochromic technology provides the lowest power consumption printable display technology, making it the ideal match for Identiv’s uTrust Sense product line,” added Samuli Strömberg, Ynvisible head of Business Development for Logistics and Retail.
