The Canadian Printable Electronics Industry, the united voice of Canada’s printable electronics sector, has signed Xerox Research Centre Canada (XRCC) as a Gold Sponsor for the 2015 Canadian Printable Electronics Symposium (CPES2015). Beyond the Gold sponsorship, XRCC has also shown its leadership by assisting with the startup of the CPEIA. XRCC is Canada’s leading materials research center, home to a world-class team of scientists and engineers with broad expertise in materials chemistry, formulation design, prototyping, testing, and chemical process engineering. The center delivers real-world solutions for Xerox and external customers in areas such as electronic materials, sustainable chemical processes, coatings, and security/authentication, as well as novel technologies for the printing, electronics, and manufacturing industries. “There is a fantastic opportunity for Canadian companies involved in printable electronics across a vast number of applications,” said Paul Smith, VP and center manager for XRCC. “We are proud to take an active role in CPES2015 and support the launch of the CPEIA. Anyone with an interest in this growth sector, from technology developers to end users in vertical markets, should consider membership with the CPEIA.” In addition to its sponsorship of CPES2015, XRCC is a founding member of the CPEIA, and has long been a staunch supporter of the Canadian printable electronics (PE) industry. It has taken part in past CPES events, and represented Canada globally, most recently as part of the Canadian Pavilion at the IDTechEx Printed Electronics USA conference in November. “We look forward to working closely with Paul and his team, and congratulate XRCC for stepping up and taking a leadership role to support and develop Canada’s PE sector,” said Peter Kallai, executive director of the CPEIA. About CPES2015 Over two information-packed days, 120-plus attendees will have the opportunity to learn, network and develop partnerships for collaboration and business development. CPES2015 runs April 21-22 in Montreal. The CPES2015 agenda includes five keynote presentations, 20 in-depth presentations by industry experts and leading Canadian researchers, two panel sessions with representatives from Canadian industry and funding organizations, and 15 academic posters from leading Canadian principal investigators and their teams. Ten organizations will also have the opportunity for up to five targeted meetings each with key academic, government, industry and investor contacts. Register now for CPES2015 and enjoy an early bird discount. The deadline for paper and presentation submissions is Jan. 31.
