Xeikon Celebrates HEIMTEXTIL 2018 Sales Success

The ability of Xeikon’s breakthrough Wall Decoration Suite to support cost effective short run production proved to be strong enough convincer for PPS and K&L Wall Art at this year’s Heimtextil. So much so that both German operations signed deals for the production lines during the five-day Frankfurt show.
 
Digital printer PPS’s suite will include a Xeikon 8500 digital printing system. The company chose the solution to service the growing creative market for personalized wallpaper for hotels, cafés, offices, trade shows, events and homes. Installation is due to be completed by the end of March 2018.

K & L Wall Art, one of Germany’s leading suppliers of murals, wall prints and wallpaper, aims to provide a personalized home experience for end consumers, wholesalers and retailers on canvas, glass and vinyl, 3D deco letters, magnets and many other modern home accessories. It chose its suite, with a Xeikon 8500, to increase productivity for the growing demand of wallpapers ordered online.
Visitors of 43 different nationalities dropped by the booth to see Xeikon’s Wall Decoration Suite in action. The only digital alternative to the high-speed analogue technologies comprised of a digital press, eco-friendly toner, efficient workflow, finishing and support for the widest range of substrates.

Capable of meeting the high volume and throughput requirements of the wall decoration market it addresses the trend towards short run traditional wallpaper rolls. Visitors also saw its 56% speed increase in action, thanks to a new dry toner platform.

“We were very encouraged by the keen interest visitors showed in the suite,” said Dimitri Van Gaever, Xeikon’s business development manager for the Graphic Arts Segment. “It is clear that it does provide a much-needed solution that responds to demand for a system that profitably manages shorter runs of wall decoration.

“We had numerous conversations about how it can support short-run printing for end-of-life collections, start-up collections, sample books and customized or ultra-short-run wall coverings such as photo murals for homes or businesses. Our Wall Decoration Suite also enables customers to print on the widest range of non-woven substrates.”

Xeikon’s Wall Decoration Suite includes a range of digital roll-fed presses suitable for producers of wallpapers, from entry-level investments to full manufacturing productivity at speeds of up to 900m²/hour. All Xeikon Wall Decoration configurations include a jumbo roll unwinder and a specially developed wallpaper rewinder with slitting and waste removal to deliver perfectly finished wallpaper rolls, in one go. An optional varnishing module is also available.

The suite is driven by the X-800. This industry-leading digital front-end includes many workflow productivity features and color management tools that deliver color stability and output reproducibility.
