TOPPAN Holdings Inc. has received new Net-Zero Target validation from the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) for the TOPPAN Group’s greenhouse gas (GHG) emission reduction targets for the entire value chain, including Scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions.

The SBTi is an international organization that encourages companies to set ambitious GHG emission reduction targets in line with the latest climate science to achieve a society with net-zero GHG emissions.

The TOPPAN Group obtained SBT approval in 2019 and 2022, but in 2023 revised the TOPPAN Group Environmental Vision 2050 and the TOPPAN Group Medium-and-Long-Term Environmental Targets for Fiscal 2030 by expanding the scope and setting more ambitious targets.

The new SBT approval validates that the revised long-term and short-term targets are net-zero targets that are science based and consistent with the levels for the 1.5℃ threshold targeted by the Paris Agreement.
