Thinfilm Names Dr. Peter Fischer Chief Product Officer

Thin Film Electronics ASA announced that Dr. Peter Fischer will join Thinfilm as its new chief product officer, serving as the company’s technical lead in product marketing and business development. He is expected to take up his position later this year.

“Dr. Fischer is an acknowledged leader in the commercialization and scale-up of printed electronics. With his substantial industry experience in both printed and semiconductor production processes, he will be an important asset for Thinfilm as we move our products into market,” said Dr. Davor Sutija, CEO.

Dr. Fischer’s previous assignments include CTO at Plastic Logic, and earlier in his career, director, back-end oroducts at Qimonda and senior manager, process integration at Infineon Technologies. He brings more than 15 years of experience working in the semiconductor industry, holding senior positions in both R&D and manufacturing, with responsibility for large, multi-site, international teams.

Dr. Fischer has a broad background in front-end and back-end processes, technology transfer, and new product design for manufacturing. In 2012, Dr. Fischer was named one of the top “Forty Innovators Building the Foundation of the Next-gen Electronics Industry” by EETimes. He serves on the board of the OE-A (Organic and Printed Electronics Association) and holds a diploma and PhD in semiconductor physics.
