Thin Film Electronics ASA (“Thinfilm”) of Oslo, Norway, announced hat Thinfilm  has received the 2007 Frost & Sullivan – European Printed Electronics Technology  Innovation Award.

Based on recent research and analysis of the European Printed Electronics market, global  growth consultancy company Frost & Sullivan recognizes Thinfilm with the 2007 Frost &  Sullivan Printed Electronics Technology Innovation Award for Thinfilm’s pioneering  contribution in the use of polymers as the active material in electronic memory devices.

“The most promising prospect of Thinfilm’s polymer memory lies in the fact that it is  possibly the only non-volatile memory that can be fabricated entirely by printing methods  thereby being the prime candidate for printed embedded memory applications as well as printed stand-alone applications” says Rashmi Sundararajan Research Analyst, Technical Insights at Frost & Sullivan.

“We are honoured to receive this prestigious award from Frost & Sullivan”, says Thinfilm’s  CEO, Johan Carlsson. “With this Award, Frost & Sullivan has after their research and  analysis of the market, recognized that our technology will play a leading role in a wide  range of new applications such as fully printed RFID-tags, smart labels, smart packaging,  toys, displays, antifraud tags, electronic game cards, and IDs where a memory is needed  and where a wider variety of form factors, including thin, flexible substrates are required.”

Each year Frost & Sullivan presents this Award to the company that has carried out new  research, which has resulted in innovation(s) that have or are expected to bring significant  contributions to the industry in terms of adoption, change, and competitive posture. The
Award recognizes the quality and depth of a company’s research and development  program as well as the vision and risk-taking that enabled it to undertake such an  endeavour.
