The Board of Directors of TAGSYS, the global leader in item-level RFID infrastructure, announced the appointment of Alain Fanet as the company’s chief executive officer, effective immediately. As CEO, Mr. Fanet succeeds Bill Stuek who will remain with the company as chairman of the board.

“Alain is the right person to lead TAGSYS toward our next set of objectives, and the Board and I are confident that Alain’s vision, leadership skills and proven successes ensure that TAGSYS will continue to progress,” said Bill Stuek.

Mr. Fanet brings to TAGSYS deep experience leading technology companies from early-stage through development to global market acceptance. Mr. Fanet was a co-founder and CEO of Arteris, a global semi-conductor system-on-chip design firm. He also co-founded and served as President of T.sqware, Inc., a high-performance network processing firm that was later purchased by Globespan Virata.  More recently he served as the President of the European Technology Tour Association, an industry body that helps up-and-coming technology companies expand internationally.

“There is a tremendous untapped potential in the RFID value chain that TAGSYS will unlock with our strong technology portfolio and by reinforcing our commitment to strategic partnerships and alliances,” said Mr. Fanet. “I believe that the current economic conditions will actually accelerate RFID growth, and for that reason, I am excited and fortunate to join TAGSYS with its innovative suite of RFID platforms, a growing customer base and most of all a great team of talented and dedicated employees.”
