Visitors attending Labelexpo Americas 2008 will be introduced to innovative products from Sun Chemical that will help label and narrow web printers and brand owners improve productivity, incorporate security and leverage technologies like printed electronics and digital production.

Using the theme of “Working for You,” Sun Chemical will show guests at booth 6123 how its new products and solutions will deliver quality, service and innovation within the narrow web and labels industry.

“We are excited to showcase all of our new offerings to the North American market,” said Michael Kellen, the director of specialty inks at Sun Chemical. “Labelexpo is an excellent venue for Sun Chemical to demonstrate our Solaris system of products that can take our narrow web printers beyond labels. This system of products has brought to the narrow web market important benefits that include faster cure speeds, low press room and cured print odor, lower humidity sensitivity and improved adhesion and resistance.”

At Labelexpo, new Sun Chemical solutions will build off the Solaris platform, helping printers and brand owners improve productivity.

Sun Chemical’s AquaPro is the next generation of water-based ink technology. AquaPro delivers the world-class quality printing that the narrow web market demands. AquaPro offers superior print densities, user-friendly press stability, excellent performance on paper and film substrates, enhanced thermal resistance, and easy clean up, all in a single ink system. Finished blending and process inks are also available.

Platinum White enables rotary screen-like opacities to be achieved with a single flexo pass at flexo web speeds. It is a user-friendly product that delivers increased line speeds, faster changeovers, improved color separations and reduced costs.

Platinum White technology was developed through extensive formulation and testing, including the use of optimized resin and photoinitiator packages and a complete rheological assessment.

Sun Chemical will showcase a significant development in digital label production with SolarJet, a four-color web-fed press designed to meet the needs of label converters. SolarJet offers printers an economically viable solution for print runs of 10,000 labels or fewer with a printing speed of 80 feet per minute, freeing up their flexo presses for the higher-volume jobs.
